Our company, Kids World Media Pte Ltd is established in 2003. The nature of the business is a publishing company which publishes educational kids and parenting magazines. The magazines under our company are WaWa in Kids World and Parents World.

HISTORY OF OUR MAGAZINES:

WaWa in Kids World magazine was actually named after the Chinese word for “doll”, “娃娃”. The doll is symbolic of something that a child carries around with him all the time. It is close to his or her heart and is the child’s constant companion and friend. That is what WaWa in Kids World magazine aims to be. We aim to create a magazine that is a friend and companion to our young readers – a magazine that will accompany them through their growing years.

WaWa in Kids World first magazine is out in Sept 2004 and Parents World magazine is out in October 2006, it is a bi-monthly publication.

WaWa in Kids World magazine is a monthly magazine that is written for and catered to kids. Parents can subscribe to our bi-monthly parenting magazine, Parents World (www.parentsworld.com.sg). Visit our website for more information.

Parents World magazine supports our main brand, WaWa in Kids World as it addresses daily concerns and issues that parents face with regards to their children. The magazine educates and informs parents to help them understand their children better. Through this magazine, we hope to provide parents with good tips to nurture and raise their children.

OUR VISION:

Our vision is to create an interesting, fun, exciting and educational kids magazine that will captivate the hearts of our children, educate, nurture and entertain them, while at the same time give voice to what is in their hearts.

OUR MISSION:

WaWa in Kids World’s mission is to create an interesting and interactive magazine that adds value to our readers’ lives.

We have achieved our brand vision in three main ways:

a) Education

b) Communication, Information and Knowledge

c) Entertainment

a) Education

The main way that we educate our readers is through our articles. Our magazine is filled with knowledge, information, stories of moral values, etiquette and advice. We do not only provide kids with factual knowledge, we also equip them with and impart to them valuable life skills and values that they can carry with them even beyond their childhood.

We do not educate and nurture our readers solely through our articles. We also conduct free assembly talks in their schools on various topics such as a healthy lifestyle, how to write well and how to do well in examinations.

b) Communication

WaWa in Kids World believes strongly in communication with our readers, their parents and even their teachers. We have done many road shows and events. This enables us to interact with the public, and gives us a chance to get to know our readers and their families. It also gives the readers a chance to get to know us.

In addition to road shows and events, we also collect feedback on a regular basis. This is done by our Readers’ Feedback Survey form which is attached in an issue of our magazine once a year. Through these feedback forms, we come to understand the thoughts of kids, their likes and dislikes, their needs, wants and desires.

Besides our Readers’ Feedback forms, we have many avenues that encourage communication between our readers and us. Some of these avenues are:

  • Kids Helpline: kids can write to us with their problems. This comes with every issue of our magazine. At the same time, parents and teachers can find out about the challenges that kids are facing through this segment.
  • Kids Reporter: We interview and feature talented or special kids in this section. We talk about their school life, family life and other issues that they can relate to and will interest them.
  • We encourage our readers to write to us with their suggestions and requests. We also feature contributions by our readers. Attractive prizes are given away to encourage response from our readers.

c) Entertainment

WaWa in Kids World also seeks to entertain our readers even as we educate and inform them. We provide entertainment in the form of our short stories, comics, movie and book reviews, contests, games, quizzes and jokes section.

WaWa in Kids World differentiates itself from its competitors in the following ways:

  • We are the first kid’s magazine that helps kids with their school subjects by providing them with English, mathematics and science worksheets in our magazine.
  • Some schools are using our magazine as compulsory reading materials for their students.
  • Many teachers also encourage their students to subscribe to our magazine.
  • We encourage interaction between kids and their parents, and teachers and their students, by providing them with hands-on activities that they can work through together. These activities can come in the form of arts and crafts, simple recipes for cooking and worksheets.
  • Our magazine has unique columns such as “Kids Entrepreneur”, which cultivates the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit in our kids and “Kids Finance”, which provides useful tips to children to teach them how to better manage money.

Also, in our content, we talk about things that happen in Singapore and may be unique only to our country.
